Summary:
Tata Communications plans to invest Rs. 1,442.33 crore to extend its undersea cable infrastructure in order to improve digital connectivity between Singapore and India. For a total of 98 Tbps on the India-Singapore corridor, the investment consists of integrating the MIST Cable System, which has a 20 Tbps capacity, and taking part in Project CS, which adds 78 Tbps. The extension intends to provide high-speed, reliable, and low-latency connectivity to meet the increasing demand for digital services, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence. While Project CS is slated to be finished by Q3 FY31, the MIST Cable System is anticipated to be operational by Q4 FY27. India's position in Asia's digital ecosystem would be strengthened, network resilience will be improved, and regional digital transformation will be supported.
