Through the Vibrant Villages Programme (VVP), which aims to make 662 villages in Arunachal Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, and Ladakh self-sufficient "first villages," the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) is promoting skill-led transformation in border regions. To improve coordination and execution, stakeholders from federal ministries, State Skill Development Missions, and Sector Skill Councils attended a Capacity Building and Review Workshop at Kaushal Bhawan in New Delhi. In order to improve livelihoods in border communities, it focuses on demand-driven skill development programs. 74 skill development proposals have been approved by MSDE, indicating advancements in the operationalization of skilling initiatives. The availability of trainers, beneficiary mobilization, and infrastructural inadequacies found during the evaluation are important obstacles. Pipelines, on-site training through schools and ITIs, and a unified monitoring framework endeavor are highlighted in the roadmap.
