Under the "Viksit Bharat GRAMG" framework, the Center has announced a rural development project that would begin on July 1, 2026, with an allocation exceeding Rs. 1.25 lakh crore (US$13.09 billion). The initiative, which covers about 2.8 lakh Gram Panchayats, supports digital governance systems like DBT and e-KYC, timely wage payments, and rural projects. It is a component of the larger Viksit Bharat 2047 vision for equitable rural development.
