Through Mera Yuva Bharat, the Department of Youth Affairs has initiated the first phase of the Viksit Vibrant Village Program (VVVP) 2026 in an effort to boost development in border regions and increase grassroots involvement. A total of 500 volunteers will be stationed among border communities in Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand after being chosen from among over three lakh competitors in a national quiz. Through a seven-day immersion program, 250 volunteers are interacting with communities in 43 villages during the first phase. Household surveys, involvement in the Gram Sabha, cleanliness campaigns, and village development planning are some of the activities. The effort, which is carried out with assistance from the Indo-Tibetan Border Police, seeks to promote sustainable development, national cohesion, and youth leadership in strategically significant border regions.
