The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has joined forces with Mercedes-Benz India Private Limited through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration is set to boost India's manufacturing sector while advancing road safety and environmental sustainability. By providing critical resources such as infrastructure, mentorship, funding and market access, the initiative aims to empower startups, innovators and entrepreneurs. Additionally, it seeks to strengthen global partnerships and facilitate knowledge-sharing to accelerate technological advancements.

At the signing event, DPIIT Joint Secretary Mr. Sanjiv Singh emphasised the significance of industry-academia collaboration in fostering responsible innovation in this MoU. Mercedes-Benz India’s Managing Director, Mr. Santosh Iyer, reiterated the company’s commitment to social impact through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, working alongside incubators and research institutions. Senior representatives from both organisations were present to witness the MoU signing.
