Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that India aims to become a global drone powerhouse, boosting the economy and supporting the Make in India and Atmanirbhar Bharat initiatives. These efforts include enhancing R&D, developing certification systems, protecting intellectual property, and rewarding innovation through initiatives like iDEX and ADITI to promote defence technological advancements.

He highlighted the transformative importance of drones and swarm technologies in modern warfare, noting their impact on land, air, and sea. India’s defence exports are increasing, with sales to over 100 countries, including the United States, France, and Armenia. By 2029, India aims to achieve $5.93 billion in defence exports. He also reiterated India’s leadership in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and cyberspace. The DRDO is integrating AI into Defence Public Sector Undertakings to help address security challenges discussed at the Delhi Defence Dialogue.
