Summary:

India’s e-recycling sector is set to grow at a 13.52% CAGR, reaching Rs. 1,726.33 crore (US$ 198.52 million) by 2032, says India Ratings and Research. As the world’s third-largest e-waste producer, India’s growth is driven by tech advancements, faster electronics turnover, and stronger EPR policies ensuring producer accountability.

India's e-waste recycling industry, once dominated by unorganised players, faced health and environmental risks. Now, with 569 CPCB-registered recyclers (1.79 million metric tonnes capacity) under E-Waste Rules, the organised sector is growing. Rising EPR fees boost market resilience, though irregular billing poses challenges. Strong regulations and compliance ensure sustainable, safe operations.
