According to Colliers, institutional investment in Indian real estate is expected to reach Rs. 55,640 crore (US$ 6.5 billion) in 2024, up 22% from the previous year. In Q4 FY24, inflows totaled Rs. 16,264 crore (US$ 1.9 billion), more than double the same period in 2023. Local investments accounted for 43% of Q4 inflows, indicating increased confidence among both local and foreign investors.
In 2024, the industrial and warehousing sectors accounted for 39% of all real estate investments. Manufacturing expansion, aided by the PMI and IIP, boosted performance. The residential sector saw a 46% YoY rise, with investments of Rs. 9,416 crore (US$ 1.1 billion). Foreign inflows accounted for 66%, totaling Rs. 36,808 crore (US$ 4.3 billion), while domestic investments increased by 27%. Tier-I cities are expected to attract investors due to their focus on infrastructure and 'Make in India.' Capital deployment is predicted to increase in 2025.
