As of October 2024, India has achieved significant growth in renewable energy, reaching 203.18 GW, a 13.5% increase from 178.98 GW in October 2023. This aligns with India's renewable energy targets. The solar sector led this progress, rising by 20.1% to 92.12 GW, and the total solar capacity, including ongoing and tendered projects, has reached 250.57 GW. Wind energy also saw growth, with capacity increasing by 7.8% to 47.72 GW, supported by a strong pipeline of 72.35 GW for future projects.

From April to October 2024, India installed 12.6 GW of renewable energy capacity, including 1.72 GW in October, indicating a significant move towards clean energy. A total of 143.94 GW is under implementation, with 89.69 GW tendered by October 2024, up from 99.08 GW and 55.13 GW in 2023. Large hydro projects supplied 46.93 GW, while nuclear power added 8.18 GW, increasing non-fossil fuel capacity to 211.36 GW from 186.46 GW in 2023, demonstrating India's commitment to sustainability.
