During the holidays, demand for gig delivery riders is expected to surge by 40% on peak days. The home delivery sector plans to hire an additional 1-2 million gig riders, while e-commerce and food delivery companies aim for a 20% increase in recruitment. Quick commerce currently employs 300,000 to 400,000 riders, while e-commerce and food delivery have a combined workforce of 4-5 million.

Executives noted that, while quick commerce represents a small portion of overall demand, it is expanding rapidly. Many delivery workers anticipate higher earnings during the holiday season due to increased demand and peak-hour bonuses.
