Summary:
The number of Indians taking two or more overseas trips has increased by 32% in the past year, with the UAE, Thailand, and the United States being popular destinations. Emerging destinations include Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, and Bhutan, according to MakeMyTrip's study from June 2023 to May 2024. Co-founder Rajesh Magow attributes this rise to increasing disposable incomes, greater global exposure, and easier travel, highlighting new opportunities driven by macroeconomic factors.

Short haul destinations are most sought after from October to December, while mid and long-haul travel is preferred from April to September. Maharashtra, Karnataka, and Delhi lead in search volume, with interest in new destinations like Almaty and Baku increasing by 527% and 395%, respectively.
There has been a 10% rise in searches for business-class flights, with luxury travel gaining popularity. South Asian locations such as Pokhara and Pattaya are favored for budget stays, while searches for homestays and villas have increased by 42%, with Bali, Dubai, and Singapore being prominent.
