Summary:
A new report reveals a 9.01% increase in hiring in India's power and energy industry in the first half of FY25, reflecting the country's ambition to achieve net-zero emissions by 2070. This rise aligns with key government objectives for a low-carbon future. This major transition is highlighted in TeamLease Services' 'Employment Outlook Report' for April to September 2024-25, based on data from 1,417 companies across 23 industries.
According to the report, Delhi leads with 56% of job locations, followed by Bengaluru (53%) and Mumbai (52%). Jaipur shows the highest rate of new job creation at 14%, with Bengaluru, Chennai, and Vadodara at 13%. The growth in existing metros and Tier II cities is driven by infrastructure development and renewable energy expansion. "The 9.01% net employment increase in the power sector signals progress towards a greener future," said Mr. Subburathinam P., Chief Strategy Officer of TeamLease Services. Green energy initiatives, Industry 4.0, and decarbonization are fueling sector growth, with a significant demand for engineering and sales positions, especially in EV infrastructure.
