Summary:

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the allocation of 3.8 million houses under PMAY-G to 18 states for 2023-24, aiming to build 30 million houses in five years. With $1.26 billion released and $12.16 billion spent so far, a new survey will identify beneficiaries under relaxed criteria, ensuring no eligible person is excluded.

 

The government’s Lakhpati Didi initiative aims to boost incomes of 30 million female self-help group members by 2024-25, up from 11.5 million. Under PMGSY Phase IV, $8.28 billion is allocated to build 62,500 km of rural roads by FY29, including 6,614 km sanctioned this year. MGNREGS funds for West Bengal await issue resolution.
