As India commemorates the third anniversary of the PM Gati Shakti National Master Plan, its profound influence on infrastructure development is evident. The program promotes a coordinated approach to infrastructure, with a focus on multi-modal connectivity via road, rail, air, and water. Over 208 large projects costing more than $180 billion have been evaluated to address 156 infrastructural shortages. With plans for 8,891 km of new roads and 27,000 km of railway lines, investment is expected to increase at a CAGR of 15.3%.

 

PM Gati Shakti plans to prioritize district-level initiatives and smart city development to foster inclusive growth. Plans are being developed to construct a PM Gati Shakti District Master Plan site for decentralized infrastructure planning. The initiative has sparked worldwide attention, with nations such as Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka wanting to implement its components, establishing India as a global infrastructure leader and supporting the Viksit Bharat Vision for growth by 2047.
