The second edition of the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable, held in Singapore, featured 10 ministers from both countries, marking a significant diplomatic occasion. The discussions focused on strengthening strategic ties in investment and commerce ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's scheduled visit on September 5. Indian ministers met with six Singaporean colleagues and senior leadership to discuss collaboration in digital technology, skill development, sustainability, healthcare, connectivity, and advanced manufacturing.

 

Launched in September 2022, the India-Singapore Ministerial Roundtable serves as a unique platform for shaping the future of bilateral relations. Singapore, India's leading ASEAN trading partner, ranks first in FDI, External Commercial Borrowing, and Foreign Portfolio Investment. Bilateral trade has grown from $6.7 billion in FY05 to $35.6 billion in 2023-24, making Singapore India’s eighth-largest trading partner. FDI equity inflows totaled $17.20 billion in 2022-23, with significant collaboration in technology and skill development.
