Summary:

Mutual fund folios in India reached a record Rs. 22.5 crore in December 2024. Retail folios, including equity and hybrid schemes, grew to Rs. 17.89 crore, up from Rs. 17.54 crore in November. Retail Assets Under Management (AUM) increased slightly to Rs. 3,991,000 crore. SIPs saw strong growth, with new registrations at 54.27 lakh and monthly contributions hitting Rs. 26,459 crore.

 

Equity mutual funds saw a 14.5% rise in inflows, reaching ₹41,155 crore in December 2024, up from ₹35,943 crore in November. This marked the 46th straight month of positive equity inflows since March 2021. Despite market ups and downs, retail investors stayed confident, favoring sectoral and small-cap funds. SIP accounts hit a record 10.32 crore, showing strong commitment to long-term investing.
