Summary:

In 2025, Indian automakers plan to launch nearly a dozen new EV models, focusing on the luxury segment with longer ranges and faster charging capabilities. These vehicles will debut at India's auto exhibition in New Delhi, alongside offerings from Maruti Suzuki, Mahindra, BYD, Toyota, and Hyundai. With EVs currently comprising 2.5% of car sales, India aims to increase this to 30% by 2030, driven by rising demand and stricter pollution standards.

To address range concerns, the new EV models will feature ranges starting at 400 kilometres, with Mahindra SUVs exceeding 600 km and offering rapid charging from 20% to 80% in under 20 minutes. Targeting premium buyers, prices will range from Rs. 19,04,890.90 (US$ 22,000) to Rs. 30,30,508.25 (US$ 35,000). VinFast will showcase its VF3 and VF9 models, while Hyundai and Maruti will unveil the electric Creta and e-Vita. Additionally, clean fuel technologies, including hybrids and hydrogen-powered vehicles, will be displayed.
