Summary:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched development projects worth $1.43 billion (Rs. 12,100 crore) in Darbhanga, Bihar, covering sectors such as health, rail, road, petroleum, and natural gas. A major project is the establishment of AIIMS Darbhanga, aimed at providing advanced healthcare to Bihar and nearby regions, including West Bengal and Nepal. He emphasized enhancing healthcare through Ayushman Bharat, new medical institutions, and preventive care efforts like Ayushman Arogya Mandirs and Swachh Bharat to ensure cleaner living conditions.

 

Significant investments were also made to improve connectivity in Bihar, including new National Highway projects and railway infrastructure costing over $924.6 million (Rs. 7,800 crore) to boost regional growth. Additionally, a City Gas Distribution (CGD) network spanning five districts was developed to promote clean energy. Other initiatives include a new eye hospital, a cancer treatment center in Muzaffarpur, and Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Jan Aushadhi Kendras. The government reiterated its commitment to Bihar’s development.
